Adam Kucharski

President

Adam is currently in his fourth year of electrical engineering, taking a minor in energy and environment. He recently completed a sixteen-month internship with TransAlta, where he worked in the hydro department. For the 2021-2022 EEESA council, Adam will be serving as the President. He hopes to showcase local energy and environment-related projects, companies, and facilities, keep up popular EEESA events such as the internship panel, and reading week trip, as well as host a variety of social events. Along with the EEESA team, he aims to inspire and encourage students to take interest in energy and environment-related topics, and work to take care of our beautiful world. As President, Adam hopes to represent energy and environment engineering students and their interests within the Schulich School of Engineering. If you ever have any ideas, questions, or concerns feel free to reach out!

In the past Adam served as the 2019-2020 Director of Trips for EEESA, where he planned and lead a trip to Vienna, Austria in February 2020. In addition, he was the trip advisor for the 2020-2021 academic year. He has also been involved with clubs such as the Engineering Leadership Program, and Project 90. Outside of school, Adam is an avid outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys hiking, mountain-biking, skiing, and just being outside.

Hailey Lu

Senior vp

Hailey is currently an intern at TC Energy, on the Corrosion Prevention Engineering Team. She’s majoring in Civil and is always down to talk about anything earth-related. With a passion for “going green” that sparked in 3rd grade, EEESA is the perfect continuation of her pursuits in the sustainability and the environment sector (she hopes to use lessons learned from previous years with EEESA to make this the best year yet!). Her other pursuits include leading Running Is Our Therapy, a recreational running club on campus, building model houses, literally hugging trees, and backpacking.

Osama Kasif

VP External

Osama is a final year Mechanical Engineering student (ENEE) and has been an ex-president at EEESA (2019-2020). He recently ended a 20 month internship term with Cenovus energy as a facilities engineering intern and possesses a past summer research term in the chemical and petroleum engineering department. Having breathed in more Carbon Dioxide than Oxygen due to growing up five minutes away from an oil refinery in Qatar (middle east), he is particularly fond of the energy industry and the constant struggle to switch to greener/cleaner energy. Outside of work, Osama is an avid golfer and enjoys a good game of football (soccer). He has an extremely friendly attitude and if you ever come across him in the halls, gym or anywhere in general; don’t hesitate to stop and say “Hi!”.
